Raspberry Pi WiFi Adapter Tests

    Zurzeit testet http://www.element14.com einige WiFi Adapter für den Raspberry Pi.

    Folgende Adapter wurden getestet:

    IOGear GWU625 802.11n adapter AMAZON.COM [Anzeige]

    • Driver: r8712u
    • Test Ergebnis
      • Fedora Remix: :) Verbindung OK zu 802.11g WPA2 Access Point via NetworkManager applet
      • Debian: :( image does not include driver in /lib/modules

    Asus USB-N10 802.11n adapter AMAZON.DE [Anzeige]

    • Driver: r8712u
    • Test Ergebnis
      • Fedora Remix: :) Verbindung OK zu 802.11g WPA2 Access Point via NetworkManager applet
      • Debian: :( image does not include driver in /lib/modules


    Trendnet TEW-424UB 802.11g Adapter AMAZON.DE [Anzeige]

    • Driver: rtl8187
    • Test Ergebnis
      • Fedora Remix: :( Fedora Remix & Debian: Treiber lädt und das Gerät wird erkannt, aber er findet keinen Access Point
      • Kernel log beinhaltet folgende Error-Meldungen nach dem Start des Adapters:

        • Apr 17 01:22:52 raspberrypi kernel: smsc95xx 1-1.1:1.0: eth0: Failed to read register index 0x00000118
        • Apr 17 01:22:57 raspberrypi kernel: smsc95xx 1-1.1:1.0: eth0: Failed to read register index 0x00000114
        • Apr 17 01:23:06 raspberrypi kernel: DEBUG:handle_hc_chhltd_intr_dma:: XactErr with NYET/NAK/ACK
        • Apr 17 01:23:06 raspberrypi kernel: DEBUG:handle_hc_chhltd_intr_dma:: XactErr without NYET/NAK/ACK
      • This adapter does work ok in Ubuntu 11.10 x86 laptop running Linux v3.0.0-17-generic
      • eLinux wiki does list a RTL8187-based Netgear adapter as working, so may be possible to get this adapter working


    BlueProton High-Gain BT3 802.11g Adapter AMAZON.COM [Anzeige]

    • Driver: rtl8187
    • Test Ergebnis
      • :( Fedora Remix & Debian: Treiber lädt und das Gerät wird erkannt, aber er findet keinen Access Point
      • Kernel log beinhaltet folgende Error-Meldungen nach dem Start des Adapters:

        • Dec 31 19:08:36 raspi kernel: [ 522.845307] DEBUG:handle_hc_chhltd_intr_dma:: XactErr with NYET/NAK/ACK
        • Dec 31 19:22:17 raspi kernel: [ 1367.536332] DEBUG:handle_hc_chhltd_intr_dma:: XactErr without NYET/NAK/ACK
      • This adapter does work ok in my Ubuntu 11.10 x86 laptop running Linux v3.0.0-17-generic
      • eLinux wiki does list a RTL8187-based Netgear adapter as working, so may be possible to this adapter working


    Getestete Distributionen:

    • Debian
      • Version getestet: debian6-13-04-2012
      • Current version includes rtl8187 but not r8712u driver kernel modules in /lib/modules
      • I had cross-compiled the driver kernel modules for the previous Debian image but kernel would not load

      • Mögliche Lösungen:


    • Fedora Remix
      • Version getestet: raspberrypi-fedora-remix-14-r1
      • All wireless modules needed are included in /lib/modules
      • Drivers automatically loaded for all adapters tested (although BlueProton RTL8187 adapter not functioning)
      • No additional packages had to be installed such as for firmware
      • The NetworkManager applet in the lower left hand corner of LXDE desktop was used to connect to wireless networks
      • Tip: nmcli allows you to control network connections from the shell instead of the applet
      • Tip: nm-tool is very useful to see the state of network devices and wireless network information

    Es muss also noch viel geändert und getestet werden. ;) Es sticht aber heraus, dass Fedora Remix am wenigsten Schwierigkeiten bereitet.

    Well in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different way and without fighting and by trying to make it clear and by considering each and every one's opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

  • Also ich nutze EDIMAX EX-7811UN Wireless USB Adapter.

    Getestet unter Wheezy Raspbian 2012-12-16

    Kann bis jetzt nur gutes Berichten...

    Allerdings hab ich keine Anleitung gefunden die mir das Einrichten einer Verbindung über "Teminal" ermöglicht hat.

    Kurzerhand hab ich einfach über "xstart" den Desktop gestartet und das Debian WLAN Programm genutzt!!

    Funktioniert sehr gut :)

  • Also EDIMAX EX-7811UN Wireless USB Adapter funzt super und lässt sich auch per Konsole einrichten. Einfach die passenden Daten in die /etc/network/interfaces u. /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf eintragen und mit ifup wlan0 starten. ( Es gab bei mir aber ein paar kleinere Probleme, weil mein w-Lan keine BSSID sendet. Abhilfe schaffte aber scan_ssid=1 Eintrag in die wpa_supplicant.conf und dann klappte es. )

    Der geht richtig gut.
